Why you need to be seen trading with other businesses in your community
24th January 2012 10:50:50
You are likely to have several products or services which you deem a priority to purchase in the next quarter; things which will save you time or enhance your business.
As opposed to previous years’, where you perhaps commenced the year with a formidable list of ten or more “must buy” items, your shrewd planning, or advice from your finance department, probably dictates the budget for far fewer purchases, those deemed worthy investments.
We all know that to improve our economy money must flow, trading is the healthy solution to achieve this and relying on old equipment for example, makes aspects of our functionalities dated, slow or obsolete. Rather than dwelling on what’s happening on a greater scale, the most important task ahead is trading in your local community to help strengthen your region; to increase the rate in which monies exchanges hands in your town or city.
If you frequent your local networking circuit, have two agendas:
1: Get talking to local businesses who supply the items you have already decided that you need to procure; the chances are that they will supply you with a far superior service compared to the faceless corporate.
2: Get talking to local businesses who you know that your company could add value to in the same way.
As you meet other members of your local business community, hone in to those companies which you need to buy from or sell to. Your experience will tell you which markets are attractive to your business, your target market, those prospects you can really provide value to.
And for products or services which you need to buy, then there are many highly professional “big fish in small tanks”, ready to add value to your business operations and you will have the peace of mind that you can always speak to them. If for instance you need to outsource your IT support, then, as opposed to being stuck in the queue of a bigger companies telephone system (who are, outside of your region) choose to trade locally and know that your hard earned money is benefitting your community.
